On the weekend 19th-21st March, ten Year 10 students took part in the national finals of the UK Space Design Competition. The dream team of students were Jack Loweth, Evan Wollerton, Morgan Wollerton, Charlotte Nunneley, Abigail Nunneley, Cadence James, Thomas Adnams, Joanna Pike, Benji Lawson and Finn Bradbury.

Students participated in Microsoft Teams meetings with students across the country to design a base on the surface of Venus. Ordinarily the weekend would have been held at Imperial College, London, but with Covid restrictions the event was held virtually. Sadly our team didn’t win, but we held ourselves up very well against stiff competition from A-Level students. We are hoping to win next year’s competition, where we get another chance to go to NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre in Florida!
