On Tuesday 10th October, students from years 7 to 13 participated in our second ‘Great Big Live Assembly’ – hosted by The Sanctuary Foundation. The assembly focused on Black History Month and the theme was “Saluting our Sisters”. The assembly showcased the stories of amazing Black women who have made our world a better place. It was hosted by BBC’s Gemma Hunt and co-hosted by Jeriah Kibusi, a BAFTA award-winning 12-year-old journalist. The students enjoyed being part of this national event and had the opportunity to reflect further on equality and diversity throughout this week’s tutor programme: in which we took time to consider the challenges and triumphs of Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
