Headteacher’s letter 28 March 2024

Dear Parents and Carers

Stakeholder Voices

Thank you to those who have taken part in the annual survey. I understand that it remains open for one final day and can be accessed using this link.

Working Party

Also, one last call for those parents and carers interested in joining one of our working parties – please follow this link to express your interest. Engagement will be entirely by email and not take up more than ten to fifteen minutes of your time. Focus groups will include: attendance; behaviour and attitudes; homework; reporting to parents and carers; and uniform and appearance.

Values and Standards

As one might expect, we shall start off the new term with a series of assemblies with each year group to revisit both our values and our commitment to high standards. I shall write to you at the start of term to explore some of those standards with you. CNS must always be a place where learners can learn, teachers can teach, and everyone can flourish to be their best self. This is why we focus on our school being a safe and respectful environment, where everyone is ready to learn. Ensuring that 1100+ of us secure this every day between 8:40am and 3:15pm remains our priority.

Safeguarding

During the school closure, if you have a concern about a child, please call the MASH team (Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub) on 0345 050 7666 during office hours (8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 4pm, Friday). Outside office hours you can call the Emergency Duty Team on 0800 833 408. If you are concerned that a crime may have been committed, then you can call the police on 101 for non-urgent concerns. For urgent concerns, call 999. Our [email protected] email account will only be checked occasionally and therefore only suitable for non-emergency advice, reassurance and guidance if needed.

And finally…

The school reopens for all students on Monday 15 April 2024. In the meantime, there is a lovely break ahead for everyone that we hope will be safe, happy and rejuvenating. Let’s hope the weather does us some favours and very best wishes to you all.

Yours faithfully
Barry Doherty
