Head’s Letter 22 July

Monday 22 July 2019

Dear Parents and Carers

Macbeth at Blenheim Palace – Friday 19 July 2019

How fitting that another trip left CNS last week; this time taking Year 10s to see Macbeth on the final two days of term.

Their conduct and engagement was again impeccable and we were again really proud of this year group in the final days before the start of their final GCSE year. My thanks to the English Department for organising such a memorable visit.

Final Days

Today, Monday, is a pretty normal day, but tomorrow is of course different. There will be normal lessons and times until 11:25am, with the canteen being available as normal for first break.

At the start of period 3, students will return to their tutor groups and then make their way to the Sports Hall. Prizes will be distributed to the tutor group that raised the most money for our non-uniform days. This will be followed by a series of awards for students who have been an inspiration to me and my three colleagues on the Leadership Team.

School will finish at approximately 12:25pm – with buses leaving no later than 12:40pm, or thereabouts.

Dates for Your Diary

A-level and then GCSE results will be available on Thursday 15th and Thursday 22nd August, respectively. We wish every student luck and happiness on these days and we shall share news of results with families in due course.

And there we are… the end of term is nigh and no doubt everyone is looking to a rest and some recuperation. I hope every family has a peaceful and relaxing summer holiday and look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday 3rd September (Year 7 only) and Wednesday 4th September (All Years) at the normal times.

Best wishes,

Barry Doherty
