On Wednesday 8th December, we completed our very first virtual concert by recording each piece to put together into a video for all to see. Due to COVID it seemed an unnecessary risk to invite a hall full of people to the school and so we went about our Christmas concert in a new way.

As the technology was new to us, there were a couple of snags along the way; however the day went very nicely. We rehearsed and recorded four pieces with the brass group and a lovely duet sung by sixth formers Jessica Bradford and Lia Barker. There were two flute group pieces with Miss Johnston leading the way. Concert band even had an audience of classmates for their three recorded pieces!

At the end of the school day, members of choir (including staff) gathered for our final set, which included Mr Brown’s very own version of ‘O little town of Bethlehem’ to end our concert in a nice Christmassy way. It felt odd performing to no visible audience but the concert was as fun as ever. We hope you all enjoy our efforts, having not been able to perform for almost 2 full years.
