In the autumn term, the Year 7 and 8 students loved meeting author Stewart Foster when he visited CNS to talk about his award winning books.

Stewart talked about his own writing process, his books and some of the issues that affect young children’s lives today. After his talk many students came to speak to Stewart in the library at a very successful book signing session. 

Students from Years 8 and 9 visited Magdalen College School to celebrate the presentation of this year’s Oxfordshire Book Awards. The students had read and discussed the shortlisted books at ‘Chippy Chapters’ reading club and voted for their favourite books. They were treated to a series of short talks by the attending authors and were able to mingle with the authors at the end of the ceremony. The students particularly enjoyed meeting Onjali Q. Rauf, author of ‘The Night bus Hero’ and ‘The Boy at the Back of the Class’.
