CNS supports COMIC RELIEF

The staff and students at CNS recognised that it is even more important to help and support others this year and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the spirit of Red Nose Day.

Members of the Student School Council sold over 400 ‘Send a Smile’ postcards and packets of sweets to students for £1. Students wrote personalised messages or funny jokes on the postcards and the student councillors delivered the postcards to tutor rooms on Red Nose Day.

We also held a non-uniform day to raise additional funds. Each student made a contribution of at least £1 to come to school in their own clothes.

The ‘Bad Dad’ jokes movie created by Beth Blackwell (Year 13) featuring our staff kickstarted the registration and showed students you do not always have to take yourself too seriously. Laughing at yourself and with others can be both enjoyable and cathartic…especially when the world around you is so uncertain.

Everyone was very generous with their donations and we were delighted to be able to send over £1400 to Comic Relief.
