Dear Parents, Carers and Students
The new term is certainly up and running now and hard to believe we approach the end of September. Our German exchange visitors had a great time and began their long journey back home yesterday.
Welcome to Key Stage 4 – Thursday 12 October 2023
On Thursday 12 October, we hope to welcome every parent or carer of a year 10 student to the school for a very special and important evening. It is our annual welcome for those parents and carers about to work with us to help their child through their GCSE years. It will be a chance to listen to some advice from students, and hear important information from the heads of core subjects as well. Attendance is very strongly recommended and we ask that parents of year 10 students sign up by following this link.

Once you get used to seeing this table, I hope it will make immediate sense to all families as I continue to show you attendance figures for the most recent week at school (and compare to the previous week in brackets to show the trends). One in five students have missed at least one day of school this term. The excellent and improving attendance in years 11 and 12 is a cause for praise.
School Photography
Thanks again for the super response to the photography permission request we put out last week. A photographer will be capturing school life on Tuesday and Thursday and we look forward to sharing those with you in a few weeks’ time. If your child in years 7 to 10 and you have not yet stated your preference then please follow this link.
And finally…
I hope that the Meet the Tutor evenings go well next week and that we have a big turn-out so that we can really foster those relationships with tutors and ensure family and school can keep in touch at all times.
Have a lovely weekend!
Yours faithfully
Barry Doherty
