At the end of April we offered students in years 7, 8 and 9 the chance to take part in a creative translation workshop. This was run by ambassador students from the University of Oxford as part of the Queen’s College Translation Exchange programme.

Students worked in pairs and small groups to creatively translate a text from German into English using decoding and English language skills.

They discussed German idioms and how to best translate them before getting stuck into a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke called “Der Panther”.
