Dear Parents and Carers,
At the start of this half-term, we had an influx of messages via our [email protected] email, celebrating a range of our students’ achievements. If you head over to Bluesky or Facebook, you can see pictures and more information on Lily our British and European Hovercraft Champion in Year 11 and Billy (Year 10) who came 5th in the British Motorcycle Championship in the MiniTwin class (Suzuki SV650) – we’re very proud of their accomplishments!
Non-uniform day
We were delighted to have raised just shy of £1000 through our non-uniform day on the last day before half-term. It was lovely to see a sea of House colours in school – thank you to everyone who made the effort! All proceeds have gone to Thrive OX7 –one of our chosen school charities for this year.
Year 7 Castle Competition
This week saw the traditional Year 7 Castle Competition which has filled the History corridor with keeps, moats, palisades and drawbridges. Thank you to all who entered – winners will be announced next week.
Celebrating our volunteers: Mary-Teresa Fyfe
Mary-Teresa has been supporting our KS5 students for the past seven years and works tirelessly to ensure that learners achieve their full mathematical potential. With her calm manner and wealth of subject knowledge, she provides exceptional support and encouragement, helping students build both understanding and confidence. Drawing on her extensive experience mentoring Oxbridge applicants and guiding students in securing places at top universities, Mary-Teresa continues to make an outstanding contribution to our sixth form community. We are deeply grateful for her dedication and the positive impact she has on all those she works with.
Finally, good luck to Christopher Taylor in Y13 when he steps into the ring to represent England this Saturday in Lancashire in the under 67kg category against Taylor McMahon, the reigning Scottish and Three Nations youth champion – all of us at Chipping Norton School wish Chris well!
Yours faithfully,
Bertram Richter
Headteacher
