Headteacher’s letter May 28th 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

It is here – a few days of well-earned rest for everyone, but still plenty to do and achieve in term 6. As I mentioned last week, the year 9s begin their GCSEs next week, and the year 10s and 12s have their own internal mock assessments as well. In my letter to you after half term I should be in a position to set out what our A.C.E. Week (Monday 19 to Thursday 22 July) will look like, including the final day of term celebrations. In the meantime…

COVID-19 Testing

Please continue with the twice-weekly testing over the half term. I understand that we shall all continue to be provided with replacements kits for the foreseeable future.

Vacancy – Careers Advisor

In order to expand our careers service at CNS, we are about to advertise for a ‘careers advisor’ role, to begin in September and play a key role in both the one-to-one careers interviews in years 11 and 12, but also in the year 10 work experience programme that we expect to be back up and running next summer. If you or someone you know might be interested please advise them to look at our website shortly, the TES or to email [email protected] for more information.

So long, farewell and thank you…

At our staff meeting last night we bid farewell to both Mrs Maybank (English) and Mr Wood (Science). As maternity covers, they joined us at incredibly unusual and challenging times and both have been exceptional colleagues and have been hugely appreciated by their respective departments. Thank you and good luck to them both. Meanwhile, we welcome back Mrs Rootham to the English department after half term.

Have a great half term.

Yours faithfully

Mr Doherty
