Extra Time And Clubs

Time Clubs start w/c Monday 14 September 2020  These activities enrich and extend learning to help every student achieve their potential.  We are proud to offer a wide variety of Extra Time and school clubs through the week at Chipping Norton School.

Extra Time Clubs are run by teachers or external coaches for a duration of 10 weeks starting Term 1, 3 and 5. They take place after school between 3.05 – 6pm. These clubs range from sports and cookery to drama. Students can sign up to these clubs by filling in the booking form (see back page of booklet) and returning it to the Finance Office and paying via Parent Pay.

School Clubs

These clubs take place during lunchtime or straight after school and are run by Departments.  Students do not need to sign up, but can just go along.  Please check details with the teacher at the beginning of term.

These clubs range from revision clubs, sport clubs, Art, Design & Technology and Drama and Music Ensembles.

Funding Information

We are extremely keen that all children have an opportunity to take part.  We do not want any child to miss out on Extra Time Clubs because of financial restraints.  If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals or the Pupil Premium Grant please tick the appropriate box on the booking form and Chipping Norton School will pay half towards the club.

We know that you all enjoy the clubs and appreciate the wide range of opportunities which are available to you. Please be reminded of our expectations:

  • Be on time, respectful to your teacher and engage fully.
  • Please wear your school uniform or PE Kit.
  • Enjoy your club and use it to develop yourself.

Parent Pay

When you pay for a club please use Parent Pay wherever possible Cash is also accepted Please remember, when you have paid for a club you must still send in your child’s Extra Time Booking Form to the Finance Office in order to give your consent and for a place to be allocated to your child.

Library Study Zone and After School Clubs:  We also offer ‘Study Zone’ with supported ICT access in the school library every evening from 3.15 – 4.15pm. This is an opportunity for students to complete their homework in a supported environment, browse the extensive range of books available, or read and have quiet time.

Late Night Transport: Late night transport is available at 4.20pm Monday – Thursday. Students must sign up for this free transport during lunchtime. Buses may be cancelled if no one is signed up. Please note, parents are responsible for their own child’s transport at other times.

General Information: If your child is attending a later club they can stay at school and use the ‘Study Zone’ facilities, or attend one of the other after-school clubs offered. Some children choose to go home and come back to school for later clubs.
