We have an impressive number of sixth form students working towards gaining a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. Many of them recently completed a weekend practice expedition canoeing along the River Wye. The group had to canoe for at least 8 hours per day and camp for two consecutive nights. The canoeing was challenging as the river was fast-flowing and there was a section of rapids to negotiate. However, the students all successfully completed the weekend and are now looking forward to their final week-long expedition along the River Severn in July.
