CNS Sixth Form raise funds for Helen and Douglas House

During Active Tutor on Tuesday 20th November, all 7 Sixth Form tutor groups ‘snazzed up a Santa suit’ to raise money for Helen and Douglas House. Having been given an emotionally pertinent presentation by the charity, we decided to get into the Christmas spirit early by designing a fancy (or crazy) Santa suit to potentially be used by runners of their annual Santa run. Each group had 40 minutes to create their masterpiece, with the final 20 minutes involving a fashion show in the lecture theatre. Each model walked in to a Christmas song of their choice (ranging from Santa Baby to some interesting Christmas drum and bass) before a nominated compere gave a comedic supporting speech. Amongst many other hilarious outfits, we were visited by Mrs Claus and a tropical themed Santa with an inflatable palm tree and cocktail made of a conical flask and tissue paper, complete with mini umbrella. We used the money raised to organise a cake sale in order to boost the profit going towards this very worthwhile charity.
